Barberry Tsiko is proud to be among the 11 new Train Operating Companies (TOCs) introduced to South Africa's rail network, securing 21 of the 41 awarded slots across our sidings and customer facilities.
A step forward for rail reform
This is a monumental step for South Africa's rail reform. Together with Transnet, regulators and industry partners, we are unlocking up to 20 million tonnes a year of rail utilisation, generating access fees that help restore the national network, and shifting freight from road to rail.
What it means for our customers
Our customers have long relied on Barberry at the siding. As a Train Operating Company, we can now help move their freight on the main line too, with the same focus on safety and on lowering the cost of logistics.
